Greetings...
Now that Eye've got your Attention, this demo is pretty straight
forward. Just double click on the Eyecon and watch what happens. Or
you can double click on the Eyecon and it will watch you happen! Eye
guess it all just depends on your point of view.
Tech Stuff...
The CPU's big job here is to generate random numbers every once
in a while and to set up the next round of blitter stuff. The rest
of the time CPU gets to sleep.
Dreams...
Controllers do there own DMA because it's faster than letting
Mr. CPU move large blocks of data. Math Co-Processors grind out the
numbers because it's faster than letting Mr. CPU do math. Is there
a pattern emerging here? On Amiga the Blitter moves Bit Maps because
it's faster than letting Mr. CPU do the job. Eye guess it looks like
dedicated hardware will always be faster than software! So whats wrong
with that? Nothing. Why don't somebody (Hay Bat Wings, This means you!)
Build a really powerful chip set with an Integrated Blitter? Why should
Commodore-Amiga have to roll there own this way? (not that they didn't do
a real good job, but if it was designed from ground up it ought ( <-<<
key word there! ) to work much better ( <-<< Faster? ). Bitmaps are here
to stay!! RAM chip prices or not, Eye can't go back to the dark ages now
can Eye?
